The approximate expenses for the course excluding the international travel (to and from Ahmedabad), are given below :

• Course Fee -          US $ 6000 per participant

• Local tours -          US $ 1200 per participant

• Living expenses -    US $ 1200 per participant

The  participant are expected to find suitable sponsorship for meeting the expenses while attending the course in India. Limited financial assistance is available for a few selected candidates.

Financial Assistance to Participants

For the current course, government of India (GOI) has offered to bear the course fee of US $6000 for each selected participant of the Asia-Pacific region selected by the Centre, Thus, no course fee is payable by the selected participants from the Asia Pacific region.

Government of India has also offered a limited number of Fellowship consisting of the following:

• Living allowance in India            -INR 8,000 per month for the duration of 9 months.

• Book allowance                        -INR 2,000

• Local tour expenses                  -up to INR 50,000 to be borne by Govt. of India

The Centre is trying to obtain financial assistance for international travel for a limited number of students of the region through various international agencies, the United Nations ad its specialized agencies like UN office for Outer Space Affairs (UN-OOSA), UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP), ICIMOD, ITEC, TCDC, COSTED, etc. This course is approved by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India under TCS of Colombo Plan Fellowship for the foreign nationals from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Fiji, Indonesia, Iran, Republic of Korea, LAO PDR, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The Fellowship covers to and fro international travel and also covers after training related expenses. The details of the fellowship may be obtain of from the Embassy / High Commission of India in the home country of the candidates. The candidates seeking admission under this fellowship may be advised to contact the Embassy / High Commission of India to obtain Prescribed Application Form pertaining to the TCS Colombo Plan fellowship and also for submission of duly completed form to them.

Candidates who wish to be considered for the Government of India Fellowship scheme and the international travel assistance have to specifically request for the same in the Application Form. In case the candidates are not offered fellowship and travel assistance by the Centre, they will have to make own arrangements for the living expenses and international travel.
