TEACHING METHODS AND AIDS

Modern methods of teaching and instructions will be used for imparting training during the course. Printed and digital (CD-ROM) course materials of the lectures will be supplied. The teaching methods include class room lectures, video lectures, computer based training packages, laboratory experiments, group discussions, demonstrations, seminar presentations and field work/case studies (as applicable). Computer based interactive multimedia packages will also be used for self learning.
 
 
FACULTY

The faculty for the course constitutes scientists in different fields mainly drawn from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing and also from other Centres of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and various agencies/universities from India. The core faculty and these experts have long and varied experience in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS. International visiting faculty also conduct lectures, tutorials etc. on specialized topics in the course.
 
EVALUATION PROCEDURE
The performance of the participants in the Centre's programs will be assessed through both external and internal oral, written and computer-assisted interactive assessment at periodic intervals during each module of the course. Participants not able to qualify in the prescribed examinations for the nine months course may be considered for award of only a "Certificate of attendance" by the Centre.
 
AWARD OF DIPLOMA/DEGREE

On successful completion of the Phase-I of the nine months course, the Centre will award Post Graduate Diploma/Certificate. If the participant is able to complete/Phase-II Project work satisfactorily, Andhra University (India) would award M. Tech. Degree to the participants who satisfy the admission requirements of Andhra University.
