ELIGIBILITY
Master's degree in Science or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification relevant to the field of study followed by a minimum of 5 years of research/working/ teaching experience in any field of natural resources or environment, e.g. forestry, agriculture, land use, water resources, environmental analysis, geology, oceanography etc. (For candidates with higher qualification, the minimum experience may be relaxed). Graduate level knowledge in mathematics and statistics is also required.
 
TARGET PARTICIPANTS
The course is directed towards the following categories of professionals.
  • University Educators and Researchers.
  • Natural Resources and Environmental Management Professionals and Specialists.
COURSE OUTCOME
It is expected that at the end of the programme, participating scholars will be able to
  • Exchange their expertise to use Remote Sensing data for resource management.
  • Serve as catalysts for furthering the skills and knowledge of other professionals in their countries.
     
  • Contribute to policy making, planning, development and management of RS and GIS technology and its applications in their countries.
     
  • Enhance the self reliance of their countries
LANGUAGE
The language of the course is English, Proficiency in written and spoken English is most essential. Candidates not proficient in English need not to apply. Applicants, who have done their higher studies in a medium (language) other than English, are required to submit TOEFL score or a diploma/certificate of English language issued by an accredited language institution or by the local UNDP upon satisfactory establishment of the applicant's competence in spoken and written English language. Preference will be given to those who secure high score in TOEFL examination.
