Guidelines for the Preparation of CSSTEAP M.Tech Thesis

8. List of figures

The heading LIST OF FIGURES appears in all capital bold font no. 14 and centered on the page figure captions and numbers should be appear exactly as in the text.

9. List of Abbreviations (if any)

The listing 1-9 above is usually referred as 'preliminary pages'.

10. Main Text

Main text shall be divided into chapters. The number of chapters and its content varies from subject to subject. However it should contain

  • Introductory chapter, which gives an overview of the research topic and why it is important, current status and structure of the thesis.

  • Chapter giving literature review on the subject.

  • Chapters developing the main theme of thesis, techniques/methodology etc.

Results, discussions and conclusion

10.1 Format of Typing

  • Text with double spacing, 12 point

  • Using Arabic numbers chapters should be numbered 1,2………

  • The word CHAPTER should be centered 2” down from top of the page and each chapter should be given an appropriate title and the typed in capital 14 points. Title should commence a space below. Text begins two spacing below the last line of the title.

  • Each chapter may have divisions and sub divisions number by decimal notation. For example chapter 2, division could be 2.1 and subdivision 2.1.1. Division and sub division should have suitable headings

  • New chapter always starts on right page, even a previous left page is vacant.
     

11. Appendices

Appendices are provided as supplementary information, which may be helpful to the reader, but if included in the main text may be a distraction for the central theme being dealt. Appendix should be numbered using Arabic numerals; for example Appendix1, Appendix 2 APPENDIX shall be typed font 14 capital bold centered on the page.
