Guidelines for the Preparation of CSSTEAP M.Tech Thesis

2. Title Page

Title Page is similar to cover page. This page also carries the affiliation of the institute at which the work has been done and the affiliation of the supervisor(s).
A specimen copy of title page is given in Appendix 2.

3. Certificate

Gives declaration by the student the work presented is his own and certified by the supervisor (s).
A specimen copy is given in Appendix 3

5. Abstract

The abstract should be a concise summary of your work, outlining the problem, the methodology used for tackling it, the highlights of the findings (conclusion drawn) and future scope of work (if applicable). Remember the abstract is the most frequently read portion of a technical thesis. Hence it must be written to provide an understanding of your work for a person who is familiar with the discipline (not necessarily an expert) Figures and tables are generally not to be included. References also could be avoided since it is available in the main text. The title ABSTRACT appears in bold capital font 14, centered. The text of abstract shall be typed in double space.

6. Table of Content

Heading 'TABLE OF CONTENT' should be typed Capital bold, of font 14 centered. The table of contents should list all materials following it as well as abstract (Title page, certificate, acknowledgement etc preceeding abstract will not find a place among the items listed in the Table of contents. However page numbers (in lower case Roman letters) are to be accounted for them also. Chapter titles in capitals. Subdivisions in each chapter in small case.

7. List of Tables

The heading LIST OF TABLES appears in all capital bold font No. 14 and centered on the page. Table captions and numbers should appear exactly as in the text.
